Sponsor Canal Community Days

You – or your business – can make a direct impact on the C&O Canal National Historical Park by sponsoring the C&O Canal Trust’s Canal Community Days public volunteer program. Since 2007, the Trust has engaged over 14,000 community and corporate volunteers in organized projects dedicated to the preservation and beautification of our local national park at various sites, from Cumberland, Maryland to Georgetown in Washington, D.C. Sponsors help fuel this annual community-building initiative and provide the financial support needed to cover the cost of materials, resources, and staffing to operate and grow volunteer support for the park.

Annual public volunteer events rely on the financial support and commitment of sponsors like you. As a Canal Community Days Sponsor, you are demonstrating your commitment to supporting essential preservation, conservation, and recreation efforts in the park, and in turn, encouraging tourism and boosting economic growth and vitality for the region. With your support, the Trust can increase outreach, stewardship, and community-building opportunities in our canal community for current and future generations. Thank you!

Sponsor Park After Dark

Interested in Park After Dark 2025 sponsorship opportunities?

This special annual event, held under the stars beside the canal, is the C&O Canal Trust’s largest annual fundraising event in support of the C&O Canal National Historical Park (NHP). Over 200 guests will enjoy a lively evening spending time with supporters of this beloved national treasure. 

Proceeds from the event support the mission of the C&O Canal Trust, the official nonprofit partner of the C&O Canal NHP, and directly fund preservation programs of the C&O Canal NHP, which hosts millions of visitors each year along its 184.5-mile length. Each year, a specific program is spotlighted. This year the evening’s spotlight will focus on the C&O Canal NHP’s Canal Classrooms program.
