A great way to show your appreciation for the C&O Canal National Historical Park — and help preserve it for future generations — is to become a Canal Pride volunteer. Volunteers of all ages come together to complete a variety of projects, including campground and picnic area improvements, towpath and trail repairs, building maintenance and historic preservation, invasive plant and trash removal, native landscaping, and more.

Canal Pride Days 2020
We kick off the season in the spring with Canal Pride Days, big public events where you can spend a Saturday morning with your friends, family, and neighbors preparing the Park for the busiest season of the year.
Canal Pride Days 2020 will take place at four locations:
- Saturday, April 25 – Great Falls, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Saturday, May 2 – Brunswick, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Saturday, May 9 – Williamsport, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Saturday, May 16 – Oldtown, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
