Join the C&O Canal Trust to celebrate Native Plant Month! Explore native plantings in the C&O Canal National Historical Park with NPS and Trust staff. The presentation will discuss successful efforts by the NPS to support growth of native plantings and beautification in the park and the Trust’s initiative to support conservation of rare, threatened, and endangered plant species. Attendees will learn more about the importance of growing native plants in their own home garden landscapes to encourage healthy ecosystems benefiting native birds, insects, and animals. A walk will follow the presentation, along a designated path in celebration of Native Plant Month and attendees will receive seeds and resources for plants native to Maryland. Attendees will learn more about ways to get involved with the Trust to support this initiative.
