Calling all Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts!
Earn your First Aid Badge with the C&O Canal Trust at the C&O Canal National Historical Park Headquarters in Williamsport, MD.
Brownies and Juniors (2nd-5th Grade) will learn essential safety skills, build a first-aid kit and complete all badge requirements. Plus, enjoy an optional walking tour of Cushwa Basin and Lockhouse 44!
🗓️Date: Saturday, March 15, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Workshop ends at 1:00 PM; optional walk and Lockhouse 44 tour from 1:15–2:00 PM)
Check-in begins at 9:30 AM
🏢Location: C&O Canal National Historical Park Headquarters, 142 West Potomac Street, Williamsport, MD 21795 (inside the 1st floor conference room)
💰Cost: FREE
👥Who Can Attend? Brownie & Junior Girl Scouts, Family and Friends (We ask that every party has at least one adult chaperone).
👟What to Bring/Wear? Comfortable clothing & walking shoes. Dress in layers; the ground may be wet.
Bonus Activity!
After the workshop, join an optional, easy half-mile walking tour of Lock 44 and a guided tour inside of Lockhouse 44!
Light refreshments will be provided. If you prefer, you can bring your own snacks and/or a packed lunch.
Please note that adult chaperones are responsible for their children at all times. No drop-offs, please.
Additional Notes:
The First Aid Badge will not be distributed at the event. Please work with your Girl Scout representatives to acquire the badge. They are commonly purchased and presented separately by troop leaders or other adults. Participants will earn a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop.
