Charles F. Mercer

Be sure to climb aboard the Charles F. Mercer, a replica packet boat, for a 1 hour mule-drawn canal ride. Tickets can be purchased in the Tavern. People used to take a packet boat up to the Tavern from Georgetown to enjoy the Tavern, hike the Billy Goat Trail or walk out to the Falls. They could also catch another boat at the Tavern if they wished to take the 2-day trip to Harpers Ferry.
