Welcome to the C&O Canal 184.5-Mile Challenge!
The COVID-19 pandemic may have upended our plans for 2020, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun along the C&O Canal. We invite you join us in exploring new stretches of the towpath, and working together to show our appreciation for the C&O Canal National Historical Park by raising funds to ensure the Park remains safe and welcoming today and into the future.
Our challenge goal is to raise $184,500 ($1,000 per mile of the towpath) by September 25 to make up the revenue lost by the pandemic-related cancellation of Park After Dark, our annual gala benefit. Every dollar raised supports programs and projects in our treasured national park.
