Indian Flats Campsite
A short distance north of the dramatic Monocacy Aqueduct, the Indian Flats campsite is a great stopover point for those who want to take a longer look at 516-foot stone span and other points of interest at the mouth of the Monocacy.
The name “Indian Flats” most likely originated from several Indian trading settlements upstream on the Monocacy River in the early 1700s. This hiker-biker overnight campground includes a portable toilet, water source, picnic table and grill for Canal travelers.
Please Note: Potable water may not be available at each campsite. Water is treated with iodine. Please plan to have water purification tablets with you. Water is turned off from November 15 to April 15 each year.
