The C&O Canal Trust is the nonprofit partner of the C&O Canal National Historical Park. We work hand-in-hand with the National Park Service staff to protect and steward this important natural and historical resource so it will be here for future generations to enjoy. But we can’t do it with out your help! Here are some ways you can help:
Our dedicated volunteers help with a variety of projects, including trash clean-up, park maintenance, and lockhouse care.
We raise funds to ensure the Park will be here for future generations.
Purchases from our gift shop support our mission to preserve the C&O Canal NHP.
The fees from your lockhouse stay will contribute to their long-term preservation.
The towns that line the towpath make the C&O Canal NHP a unique place to visit!
The C&O Canal NHP is a trash-free park – take your trash with you and be sure to leave no trace.
