Canal Quarters:
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Canal Quarters Program! Through close partnership with the National Park Service, seven 19th-century lockhouses along the C&O Canal have been rehabilitated. These are available for you, your family, and friends to enjoy for up to three nights. The entirety of your registration fee is used to maintain these historic structures, and to provide educational programming and outreach relating to the history of the Canal and its lock keepers. Thank you for your support!
Each of our seven lockhouses are themed for a specific part of the Canal’s history, and can accommodate up to 8 overnight guests. Cookware, dishes, utensils, and cleaning supplies are provided. Guests must supply their own linens. Please click each house’s “learn more” button for detailed information on sleeping arrangements and amenities, as these will vary by house.
Before you book, please review our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about the Canal Quarters program and what to expect during your stay.
