Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Canal Quarters program! Our seven lockhouses have been professionally rehabilitated through a cooperative agreement with the National Park Service, and are available for you, your family, and friends to enjoy for up to three nights. Don’t miss your chance to stay in a living museum, and experience what Canal life was like 60, 90, or 150 years ago!
Each of our seven lockhouses can accommodate up to 8 overnight guests. Limited place settings, kitchen utensils and cookware are provided. Make sure to bring your own linens!
Our “rustic” styled houses (22, 25, and 28) are true 19th Century encounters. Experience life as it was in Antebellum or Civil War America, without any of the distractions, or amenities, of the modern world.
Our “full” amenity houses (6, 10, and 21) offer a more modern experience, with full kitchens, heating and cooling, electricity, and indoor plumbing. Experience the Canal in the comfort of your very own private lockhouse!
Our “hybrid” amenity house (49) provides a rustic retreat with electricity and heating, as well as a clean water source on the property. Experience a mixture of modern and rustic as you are transported back in time to the early 20th century!

Our volunteer Quartermasters perform routine checks of all houses to ensure tidiness.
