Billy Goat Trail A is located on Bear Island, adjacent to Widewater. It is an extremely rugged and popular trail. It is a rock scrambling trail, so hikers should be in good shape, wear proper footwear and carry water. The best direction to hike it is heading downstream, starting by the Stop Gate and ending near Anglers. It usually takes hikers 2 to 4 hours.
