| Dierssen Waterfowl Sanctuary, located at mile 20, is a 30-acre marshland between the canal and Potomac River. This is a spectacular place for avid birders to view a variety of native waterfowl. A footpath, accessed from the towpath, allows visitors to venture to the pond that makes up the greater portion of the marsh. | |
